Today autism strikes 1 child in 166 in the US.  This is the new childhood pandemic.  Although research has not nailed down what causes autism (or pervasive development disorder), many believe we are doing this to ourselves and need to find out exactly what is causing this at this alarming rate.  Autism Speaks is a nationwide organization working towards this end.  There are also local groups working together as well.  One is the local southern Chester County - Autism Support Group that meets regularly at the Avon Grove Charter School.   Jane Thurston chairs this group and her email address is janeleet@aol.com

Does Summer Heat Increase Anxiety?

Does the extreme heat of the summer increase anxiety? It doesn't take much to check out the many forums and blogs on the internet about anxiety to find people asking that very same question.
